Community council nominations now open

COMMUNITY council elections are approaching, and East Renfrewshire residents interested in joining are asked to step forward.

Current members of East Renfrewshire's 10 community councils.

Nominations for 162 seats across 10 community councils are now open.

Areas include Barrhead, Busby, Clarkston, Eaglesham and Waterfoot, Giffnock, Neilston, Netherlee and Stamperland, Newton Mearns, Thornliebank and Uplawmoor.

Nomination forms are available from council offices and facilities. The closing date is August 1, and an information line will be open from July 1 on 577 4644 — induction and information packs are also available at www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.
