Community invited to give feedback on mall expansion

SOUTHSIDERS have been invited to have their say on further development at Silverburn.

Hammerson, the company which owns the shopping centre, will hold a two-day exhibition offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about early ideas.

The development could include retail, services, a community hall, a hotel, new workspace, cafes and restaurants, as well as a leisure facility including climbing walls.

The new development would be linked by a new river park, a market place and a public square.

The project team will be on hand today between 11am and 7pm in the mall, or on Saturday between 10am and 4pm at Pollok library.

Plans for an initial £20 million development, which will bring a 14-screen cinema and nine new restaurants to Silverburn, are already in progress.
