Community move to save Carnwath kirk

CARNWATH people could take over the village’s Parish Church and Hall to run as a community centre.

But it would need a lot of dedication, and around £1.5 million in lottery funding.

As previously reported in the Gazette, the 145-year-old church and its hall were closed on October 28.

A Church of Scotland spokesman revealed that maintenance costs for the crumbling structure had grown too high to save it.
