Commuters complain about rail services

PROBLEMS with rail services between Lanark, Carluke and Glasgow have “gone beyond a joke” since a takeover by Dutch operators Abellio earlier this year.

So say many travellers who are now complaining bitterly to their council representatives about the reliability of train 
connections to the city.

There have been headaches for travellers virtually from the start of Abellio’s takeover of ScotRail; there were no weekend Glasgow rail services at all for much of May and early June as “essential line maintenance” took place with passengers having to use a replacement coach service.
