Controlled explosion taking place near Forth today

Don't panic if you hear a massive explosion at 1pm today.

Work being carried out in Worm Law Quarry, Heathland Forest, near Wilsontown involves a controlled explosion.

The blast is expected to be 750m in radius, and 100m in height.

It is planned for around 1pm, but the area has been restricted from 8am this morning and will remain restricted until 4pm.

It is in a remote area, The official co-ordinates are OS X (eastings) 297020. OS Y (northings) 656450; and the nearest postcode is ML11 8BF

Police have put out alerts to let the public know that the explosion is controlled, expected, and they are aware of it!!
