Council fails to clean leaves on Bears Way cycle lane

Aileen submitted a petition with 2,560 signatures to the council earlier this year which asked them to get rid of the cycle lanes which were created for the Bears Way project along Milngavie Road.

Her petition demanded for the road to be reinstated to the way it was before.

She said: “East Dunbartonshire Council promised to maintain the cycle lane but it’s full of leaves.

“I think this looks very dangerous and likely to cause cyclists to slip if they had to brake.

“At the same time, I’d like to point out that the road is clear of leaves and believe this strengthens the case for reinstating Milngavie Road.”

We are awaiting a comment from East Dunbartonshire Council.
