Council pledges to straighten Carluke’s Mauldslie Road
SOUTH Lanarkshire Council has pledged to straighten a Carluke road at a notorious accident blackspot.
The bend on Mauldslie Road near Carluke Golf Club has been the scene of numerous car smashes in recent years, with club members worried that it could be a potential death trap.
But council roads bosses now hope they’ve come up with a blueprint for this stretch of road which could improve public safety immeasurably.
