Councillor David Shearer calls for more Law nursery places

Law parents urgently need more nursery places for their kids – according to one local councillor.

Clydesdale West councillor David Shearer has called on the council’s education department to allocate more places at Law Primary Nursery than the 40 it currently has.

From January next year any child from Law who is unable to get a place at the local school will be given a place at the expanded Carluke Primary Nursery a few miles away.

However, that provision is not enough for Councillor Shearer, who has already spoken to Law Mothers and Toddlers Group about the problem, which he believes is only going to get worse as the population of the village increases.
