Councillors debate whether or not to allow controversial Overburns Quarry

NEXT Tuesday, March 27, could be either one of the best or worst days in the recent history of Clydesdale.

So claim those who plan to travel from the Upperward countryside to Hamilton to listen avidly as councillors are expected to debate whether or not to allow the highly controversial Overburns Quarry scheme to go ahead.

With elections in early May, the current South Lanarkshire Council is holding its very last planning committee meeting that day and it is understood that the Overburns application will be on that final agenda, although the council refused to confirm this at time of going to press.
