Countdown has begun for Clarkston's food fest

Clarkston BID's plans for the second annual Clarkston Food and Drink Festival include a food tent with three bars, demos and and market stalls.

But that’s just the outline of a day which is also set to see Clarkston Halls and its car park full of fascinating events and tantalising stalls.

The event itself is on Saturday, August 26, when most people are back from holiday and when autumn is on the horizon – so a large attendance is likely.

Suppliers both local and from farther afield will be showing off their high quality wares to an ever-appreciative local audience.

A spokesperson for the event said: “We will be taking over the Goods Yard once again, and filling it with market stalls from local producers and suppliers showing off everything from craft beers to cupcakes and coffee to cocktails.

“There will be an entire area dedicated to ‘Healthy Clarkston’ and all of our excellent businesses who encourage you to lead a healthy lifestyle - so you can expect to see all of our health professionals and healthy eating specialists sharing their wisdom and tips with you too.

“We will also introduce a demo tent, where a number of chefs and cooks will share their favourite recipies and tips with you.”
