Crawford Gala Day 2010

BEING crowned Crawford Gala Queen is a memory that young Lynsey Fleming will treasure forever.

As her family and friends looked on, Crawford Primary pupil Lynsey was crowned by Crowning Lady Jeanette Wight.

Even a small shower just before the ceremony could not dampen the crowds spirits.

Assisted by champion Tom Hamilton, flowergirl Lauren McGarrity and pageboy Ben Coulter, the new queen was given a great reception by the crowd as well as the Upper Nithsdale Youth Pipe Band.

Crawford Gala chairwoman Molly Wilkinson said: "It was a really enjoyable day for everyone."

Crawford gala committee member Marion McMorran and local councillor Beith Forrest also paid tribute to Molly - who is retiring from her role after 10 years at the helm.
