Crime writer set to thrill shoppers

BEST-selling Scottish crime writer, Alex Gray, is paying a visit to The Avenue in Newton Mearns to promote her new novel, The Bird That Did Not Sing.

She will be appearing at Primavera Bistro in the shopping centre to discuss the new work which uses the up-coming Commonwealth Games as a backdrop.

In the novel, security around the Games is beefed up following a bomb explosion in nearby Stirlingshire.

Alex Gray was born and brought up in Glasgow. She has been awarded the Scottish Association of Writers’ Constable and Pitlochry trophies for her crime writing and is the co-founder of the Bloody Scotland intrnational crime writing festival.

The writer will be appearing this Friday from 7pm till 8.30pm.
