Armed man (19) arrested after petrol station incident

This followed an incident at a at a petrol station on Sunday (December 6), which had sparked grounds for concern.

Officers were called to the Jet filling station on Forrest Road around 6pm. This was amidst claims that the man had taken a knife into the premises.

Officers attended immediately and succeeded in tracing the man nearby. He was arrested for threatening and abusive behaviour and possession of a knife in a public place. A report has been sent to the fiscal.
