On Friday afternoon (May 22), a 40-year-old man was arrested in Waterside Avenue, Newton Mearns, after his suspicious behaviour was reported to the police by a member of the public.

He was found to be in possession of items taken from a garden shed.

On Saturday night (May 23), a 47-year-old man was arrested following a sneak-in theft in Fenwick Road, Giffnock.

Stolen property was recovered when police officers came across him during the early hours.

Police are reminding householders to keep doors and windows locked, and always check they are secure before retiring to bed.
