Cannabis '˜worth £360,000' seized in southside drugs raid

Police say they seized hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of drugs during an intelligence-led operation in the southside yesterday.

Officers acting under warrant entered and searched a property in Westmoreland Street, Govanhill, at around 1.35pm.

There they uncovered a major haul of what’s believed to be cannabis, said to have an estimated street value of £360,000.

Two men, aged 26, have been arrested and are in police custody in connection with the seizure.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

It is expected that two men will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
