Uddingston road crash leaves cyclists seriously injured as road is closed for three hours

Uddingston was the scene of a road crash on Wednesday (November 3) which left a cyclist seriously injured.

The incident occured on Uddingston Road around 5.10pm – and the 43-year-old male victim was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The collision also involved a grey Peugeot 208 car.

None of its occupants were injured.The busy road was closed for around three hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.

Enquiries remain ongoing and police are keen to speak to eyewitnesses.Sergeant Nick Twigg of the Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances which led to this crash and would urge anyone who may be able to help to come forward.“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2668 of November 3.
