Drivers arrested in Motherwell and Bellshill over drugs
A 24-year old female driver has been arrested after allegedly driving under the influence of drugs in Motherwell.
Her car was stopped by police in Muir Street around 11.35pm last Friday (October 30) and she failed a roadside drugs test, resulting in her arrest. Police also arrested a 33-year old male on Saturday (October 31) around 8.35pm after stopping him in Bellshill’s Bothwellhaugh Road. He too failed a drugs test. However a subsequent search of the vehicle has led to the discovery of material believed to be cannabis and a small amount of white powder also suspected to be drugs. He now faces charges relating to alleged road traffic and drugs-related offences.
