Drugs recovered in Cumbernauld Village

Police have arrested a motorist in Cumbernauld Village who was found with drugs in his car on Monday, May 10.

Officers had cause to stop a car in Auld Road around 1.30pm – and the sole occupant of the car, a 23-year-old male was spoken to.

A search of his vehicle led to the recovery of a quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of £1500. The man has been charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

Last week - in a separate incident just the day before -we revealed how a flat in Carbrain’s Millcroft Road was being used as a cannabis farm, in a move which saw £50,000 worth of the drug being seized. Police are still looking for those involved in the cultivation of the drug on the premises.
