Family give chase to knife wielding gang who robbed an elderly woman

An elderly female has been left shocked and traumatised after being attacked and robbed by six masked individuals who broke into her home on Rouken Glen Road.

The incident took place yesterday (Monday, April 10) whne the gang, armed with knives, forced entry to the house via the patio doors after cutting the phone lines to the property.

They then proceeded to ransack the home, stealing a sizeable amount of cash, house keys, other valuables before ripping out a CCTV hard drive, which was later recovered from a neighbours garden.

The victims son-in-law told The Extra: “Luckily a cousin and a nephew came around quite by chance and confronted the gang, chasing them on Rouken Glen Road as they tried to make their getaway. My cousin managed to take some pictures of these scum bags and their car, but according to police the number plate on the Volvo has been cloned.”

Police Scotland confirmed they are aware of the incident and will be issuing a statement in due course.
