Increase patrols in Glasgow Southside following murder of Omar Sadiq

Police patrols in the Southside have increased following the death of Omar Sadiq.

Omar Sadiq was found seriously injured by officers who were flagged down on Boydstone Road, Pollok at around 1.25pm on Tuesday, 15 September.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later.

Chief Inspector Shaheen Baber, Area Commander for South West Glasgow, said: “Detectives are continuing to follow a positive line of enquiry into the murder of 32-year-old Omar Sadiq, which took place in Boydstone Road on Tuesday, September 15.

“Additional uniformed patrols are continuing in relevant local areas of the south of the city, with officers engaging with cmmunities and provifing reasurrance.

“Anyone with information regarding Omar’s murder should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1615 of 15 September, or contact Crimestoppers annoymously on 0800 555 111.”
