Kirkintilloch: Two teens charged after alleged serious assault on woman

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault on a woman in Kirkintilloch.

The 41-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the incident at a home in the Townhead area.

Paramedics attended following reports that a woman was injured within the property.

Her condition at Glasgow Royal Infirmary was described as “serious”.

A Police Scotland statement said: “Two male youths have been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on a woman in Kirkintilloch.

“The incident happened around 11.55pm on Thursday, 21 July at Townhead in the town.

“A 41-year-old woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a serious injury.

“The two males, 17 and 16, have been charged with a number of offences.

"They are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.”
