Feezan Hameed Choudhary (24) from Pollokshields was arrested as he tried to board a flight from Paris to Pakistan with a fake passport on November 13.

Fizzy, as he is known, had been held while authorities tried to determine his true identity, and it was a week before he was formally arrested after the Metropolitan Police had been granted a European Arrest Warrant.

The Extra appealed for information after Police Scotland sought the public’s help as to his whereabouts.

Police were looking to speak with him in connection with a £60 million pound bank fraud.

Officers from Greater Manchester in connection with police from the Met’s cyber crime and fraud team made eleven arrests last month, however Choudhary slipped the net.

A Met police spokesman confirmed Choudhary was detained at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and he was then arrested by French police on a European Arrest Warrant, issued by Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

An extradition hearing will now take place in Paris.
