Man found critically injured by police at Kirkintilloch flat this morning

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after an incident at a Kirkintilloch flat this morning (Saturday).

Emergency services were called to a flat at Braehead Street around 8am.

Police and ambulance services found the 29-year-old man seriously injured in the property.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and his condition has been described as “critical”.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 8am on Saturday, August 22, police and emergency services were called after a 29-year-old man was found seriously injured within a flat at Braehead Street, Kirkintilloch.

“He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

“Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”

Local people spoke of their shock on social media.

One posted earlier today: “No cars allowed in or out Braehead Street. Police are telling residents it’s a serious incident.”

Another posted: “At 10.40am there were a couple of police cars but the whole street was cordoned off when I got home at 12.”
