Man threatened with knife in attempted robbery in Glasgow street

The incident took place last Wednesday, June 3, at around 11.30pm.

A 32-year-old man was walking on Holmlea Road, near to Holmlea Park, when he was approached by two men who threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

The man managed to get away uninjured and contacted police, although he has been left badly shaken by the incident.

The suspects are described as white, between 16 and 20 years of age, around 5ft 10in in height. Both men had local accents and were wearing dark coloured clothing.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries and are checking CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information.

Constable Sean Kennedy from the robbery unit said: “I am appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.

“Someone may have seen the two suspects and thought nothing of them but given that a man has been threatened what you saw could be vital.

“I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch.”
