At around 11pm the victim was getting out of his car in Greenfield Quadrant when he was attacked and robbed by three masked men who had pulled up beside him in a green coloured vehicle.

It is believed a fourth man remained within the vehicle.

The robbers stole a bag with a four-figure sum of money and made off in the car along Mossbank Crescent.

The suspects are described as wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Graeme Lawrence, Criminal Investigation Department at Wishaw, said: “Thankfully the man was not badly injured, however, this was very distressing for him to experience.

“Officers are currently checking CCTV and carrying out door to door enquiries in the area.

“This robbery was targeted. The suspects knew what they were doing and when and where the man would be at that time.

“It’s possible that they had been hanging around the area or may have been in the street or surrounding area in previous days.
