Murder probe after Bishopbriggs teenager and dad found dead at home

A murder inquiry has been launched after the bodies of a teenage boy and his father were found in a house in Bishopbriggs two days before Christmas.

According to national newspaper reports, the teenager was Tony Thomas, (16), a gifted athlete. He was discovered at the property at Grainger Road on Wednesday, December 23. The older victim was his dad Seweryn, 40.

Tony is reported to have been a keen kayaker and was planning to start studying law next year.

National newspaper reports said Seweryn was originally from Poland and had lived in Scotland with wife Eve and their son for over 10 years.

It’s believed he had his own joinery business.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 4.10pm on Wednesday December 23,a 16-year-old male youth and 40-year-old man were found dead within a house in Grainger Road, Bishopbriggs.

“Post mortems have taken place and police have launched a murder investigation. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
