Police appeal for any footage of Glasgow stabbings incident in West George Street

Police are appealing for witnesses and any video footage from West George Street at the time of the stabbings on Friday (June 26).

Six people, including Police Constable David Whyte, were stabbed in the attack at the Park Inn Hotel.

The attacker – who was shot dead at the scene by armed police – has now been named as Badreddin Abadlla Adam (28), from Sudan. The identity is based on information the deceased provided to the Home Office earlier this year.

The incident took place around 12.50pm. Police officers were on the scene within minutes and the incident was quickly contained.

All those injured are being cared for in either Queen Elizabeth University Hospital or Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The latest update on the condition of those injured, issued by police yesterday, was that all were in a stable condition, although one remained critical.

Three of the people who were injured were asylum seekers staying at the Park Inn Hotel, and two were hotel staff.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have footage of the incident to provide as much information as possible and upload their footage here

Police Scotland will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident in Glasgow.

The police discharge of firearms resulting in the fatality will also continue to be fully investigated by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.
