The pre-planned “intelligence-led” operation brought the officers to Achray Road, police confirmed Other searches were made in Airdrie and Glasgow. A five figure sum of cash was also recovered in the process.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with these recoveries. He has been released on undertaking to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detective Sergeant Gary Crossan, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “We will always act on information that we receive from the public on this issue and I would like to thank them for their co-operation.”
