“The police are planning on patrolling with off road bikes in a bid to catch the perpetrators. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any concerns or information that might be helpful to the police.”

The local police inspector told the councillor: “I was aware of the increased activity of quads in the park over the weekend and have arranged for our off road bikes to patrol the area.

“There are a number of other locations that we have found an increase in off road motor bike use and our additional patrols are only a small part of the work required to address these issues.

“It is my intention to speak with the council and try and arrange site visits for all our parks and look at what means they have in place for preventing bikes accessing the area and any improvements that can be made.”
