Police received a callout and rushed round to the premises where two males, aged 21 and 30 were found in the house – with the offensive weapons in tow.

The pair were immediately abusive to the officers and assaulted them in an attempt to evade arrest -and back-up from additional officers had to be called in to defuse the situation.

Both men were then safely arrested on charges relating to housebreaking, possessing weapons and police assault.
