Police hunting serial flasher

The police are hunting a flasher who exposed himself numerous times to young women in the Netherton and Gowkthrapple areas on Sunday (October 4).

Cops received a number of reports about incidents in Netherton Road, Netherton Street and Castlehill Road from 6.15-7.15pm.

The suspect is described as being Asian in appearance, of stocky build with short dark messy hair and a short black beard.

He was wearing a black or blue short sleeved t-shirt and blue jeans, and had a tattoo on his left arm.

Sergeant Allan Barnstaple, at Wishaw Police Office, said: “These incidents have caused quite some distress to the young females who were subjected to these incidents.

“This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and it is vital that we trace the man responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have been on any of these roads on Sunday evening or saw anything which might help in this investigation to get in touch with us.

“In particular we are keen to trace what has been described as a black coloured VW Golf which was seen in these areas around this time.

“I would also ask if anyone who may have been in a vehicle fitted with a dash-cam device to check if it holds any information which might assist us.
