Trouble flared at Da Luciano around 9pm following the Old Firm match on September 10 as up to 20 people were involved in a fight that spilled out into the car park.

Officers are now examining CCTV footage of the bust-up and there have been claims a man was later seen entering the venue brandishing a lock back knife.

Miller’s wife Laura had her hair pulled, suffered a cut to her forehead and a black eye after being slapped and was also verbally abused over her husband’s performance in the 5-1 defeat to Celtic.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed officers attended the scene.

He said: “At around 9.15pm on Saturday, September 10, police were called to a report of a disturbance within a restaurant on Silverwells Crescent, Bothwell.

“There was no ongoing disturbance on arrival of the police, however inquiries continue.”

The Miller family recently moved to the area after selling their home on the outskirts of Glasgow.
