Police issue personal security warning after car is stolen in Cumbernauld

Cumbernauld Police are appealing for witnesses after a black Volkswagen Golf GTC was stolen from a Cumbernauld address on Tuesday (January 12)

Officers believe it is possible that the thief may have gained easy access to a nearby home and pocketed the car key before driving the vehicle away.

The incident occurred in Sandyknowes Road in Carbrain between 9.30pm and 9,50pm.

He said: “We are keen to remind all local residents to be mindful of home security even when they are in their homes themselves. Anyone who is aware of people trying doors or acting suspiciously in any way is urged to call police at the time to afford police the best opportunity to trace them.”
