The Cumbernauld News and Kilsyth Chronicle has reported on a number of high value break-ins involving homes in Smithstone

Now offficers have confirmed that the area around Middleton Place was searched around 5am after an incident involving two men in a front garden.

A female resident spied the duo and challenged them.

They then made off and were seen driving away in a silver Volkswagen.

Inspector Phil Rose of Cumbernauld Police said: “Enquiries are continuing to identify and trace the males involved.

Anyone who saw the pair is asked to contact police on 101.”
