Police want more information on Cumbernauld bogus caller

Cumbernauld Police have been made aware of a bogus caller in the town and want to talk to anyone who encountered him.

Officers know that he gained access to at least one home where some items have now been reported missing - after he was admitted to the property by an elderly lady.

The incident happened in Seafar’s Allanfauld Road around 2.30pm on Thursday, June 18.

The man fraudulently claimed to be a gas engineer who needed to run some checks in the house .

Police are keen to hear from any other residents in the area who may have had a similar visit.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact 101.
