Three volunteers and two specially trained dogs answered a call from Mr Lamb’s family to assist the search for the missing 79-year-old, whose last confirmed sighting was in Abronhill on Saturday evening.
One of the volunteers, Gayle Patrick (37), from Kilsyth, said: “Today we have been searching the area around the underpass not far from Mr Lamb’s house. We have been working for almost four hours.

“The family requested that we come today and assist the search, so we were more than happy to do so.”
Gayle was accompanied by fellow volunteers Heather Hunter and Stevie Coombs, as well as two search dogs.
Mr Lamb’s son, also Thomas (47), said: “If anyone sees my dad, or someone they think might be him, I would ask them to report that by calling 101 and asking for Cumbernauld Police Station.
Also, most people carry a phone with a camera these days so if they can take a photograph that could really help us quickly identify my dad. We also ask for everyone to keep checking their shed and garden.”
