Vandal causes havoc at Bearsden Ski Club

The vandal was part of a gang of four people spotted by a club member at their slopes on Monday afternoon despite current lockdown rules.

In a statement online the club said on Monday: “We would like to take this opportunity to again thank our members who continue to look out for the club, especially in times that are already extremely difficult without added stress coming from members of the community.

“This afternoon there were four individuals hanging around the club, one of which was cycling across the slopes.

“Our staff work hard year-round to ensure that these slopes can be kept in the best condition possible as they are extremely expensive.

“The minute a member of staff turned up the group ran away, obviously aware that the way they are behaving is completely unacceptable.

“These mindless individuals have not only caused damage to the premises but have very blatantly been disregarding social distancing rules which have been put in place to keep everybody safe.

“It is very disappointing to be informed of behaviour like this however any CCTV footage of this will be passed on to the police and the individuals responsible will be prosecuted for criminal damage.”
