Woman arrested at Kilsyth shop after disturbance

A 30-year-old female has been arrested after allegedly committing a number of offences at the Co-op in Kilsyth yesterday (Tuesday)

It’s alleged that the woman entered the Main Street supermarket at 10.40am and tried to steal goods on display.

Staff were alerted then the woman alllegedly caused a disturbance by shouting and swearing at the workers.

Police were summoned and the alleged incident escalated further

This is because the woman allegedly became abusive to the officers involved.

She has now been accused of police assault and resisting arrest.

A report on this incident has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
