Croy Community Centre is here to stay

AT the start of this year, a community centre was at the brink of closure.

Several months on, however, Croy Community Centre is bursting with life, and it is all thanks to the efforts of a rescue group.

The centre had reached crisis point at the start of the year with two severe winters not helping matters.

Rumours started to circulate in Croy and beyond that the centre and its social trading arm was closed, bookings were down and people lost their faith in the future of the once prominent club.

That, however, has all changed thanks to the rescue group made up of Anne Russell, Seamus Coleman, Gordon Tyrell, Ron Moorcroft and John Cullen who are all volunteers who have worked tirelessly to help keep the centre going.
