Cumbernauld and Kilsyth runners invited to take part in historic event for Strathcarron

Local runners who like to help a good cause will be interested to know that Strathcarron Hospice is the chosen charity for a new event.

For Stirling is to host its first ever marathon next year and the Denny-based hospice has been selected as its charity partner.

The race will take place on Sunday May 21 at Blairdrummond Safari Park and will snake its way through landmarks line Doune Castle and the Wallace Monument.

It will end at the ramparts of Stirling Castle.

Olympians Liz McColgan and Zola Budd have confirmed they will compete.
