Cumbernauld fundraiser offers you all the fun of the fair

KIND-hearted Abronhill resident Hayley Ryan is co-hosting a a fund-raising night for Yorkhill Medicinema & Burns Ward at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

On Tuesday, March 19, Glasgow’s Madness Theatre of Fun will play host to ‘A Night at the Funfair’ - and it’s hoped that a big Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Croy contingent will join in.

At the themed charity night, guests will have the opportunity to take part in classic funfair games including Hook a Duck, Hoopla and Shoot the Tins. A magician and a dance routine from Madness’s very own bar staff will round off a night of frolics and fun. Hayley and her classmates from the City of Glasgow College have been planning the event since January of this year.

With around 120 people confirmed to attend Hayley (18) is confident that she can meet her fund-raising target.

The former St Maurice’s High School pupil who works at Mace in Croy said: “I’m hoping we can raise £300. The last event I held was in Condorrat, we aimed to raise £300, but ended up with £650 so I’m hoping for more of the same.”

“We picked the Yorkhill Medicinema & Burns Ward because one of the girls in our group has a close personal link to the group, also another girl is already a registered charity organiser from the ward, so it was a easy choice to make really,’’ she added.

Tickets are £6 or £5 for students, a limited number will be available at the door, with the event expected to be a sell out. The night is a strictly over 18’s and I.D will be required at the door.
