Cumbernauld pet owner arrested after Alsatian attack

An attack on a tiny dog by an Alsatian has led to the arrest of a 37-year-old female in Carbrain.

The woman who is the Alsatian’s owner allegedly allowed her pet to be dangerously out of control in Glenhove Road at 10pm on Tuesday, October 27.

The Yorkie needed treatment from a vet. A report on this incident has been sent to the fiscal.

Meanwhile an incident in Kilsyth with a bull terrier has also sparked a plea for witnesses.

Officers confirmed that a 71-year-old was knocked over by the dog next to the bank in Market Street at 11.30am on Monday, October 26.

The pensioner suffered cuts and grazes to his hand after falling to the ground.

Now the search is underway for the dog’s owner who is described as being in his mid 30s to 40s and around five foot seven inches in height.

He was distinctively dressed in a bright yellow jacket and was wearing jeans.
