Cumbernauld rowers pulled together for good cause
THE leisure club at Cumbernauld’s Westerwood Hotel hosted a sponsored rowathon for members and staff.
The Cumbernauld team rowed 175 miles in 12 hours on two machines, and other rowathons were simultaneously held at the other hotels in the QHotels group, with £565 raised in Cumbernauld alone. The event was in aid of Asthma UK.
Said leisure club manager Paul Finnigan: “This was a lot of fun. Members and guests were invited to book slots to take part, with staff covering any gaps. We were getting regular updates from the other hotels as well so we were able to set individual targets. Hannah Nye, our membership co-ordinator, also arranged pancakes for the participants.”
