WHITELEES Primary School has become the first primary in North Lanarkshire to be awarded five ‘excellent’ grades following an HMIe report.
The Cumbernauld primary has received the highest level of appraisal in all elements of the inspection – with particular mention given to the “inspirational” head teacher, Mrs Ann Kay.
The report also highlights pupils’ strengths with writing and mathematics as well as their positive interaction and relationships with each other and the wider community.
In the glowing report the inspectors stated: “The quality of children’s learning and achievement in and beyond the classroom is outstanding.”
Head teacher Ann Kay said: “I don’t think there’s been a school that has had marks as good as this before. We are all very happy.”
