Cumbernauld set for Bark in the Park event

CUMBERNAULD’S key showpiece green space is playing host to an extravaganza next month which will delight dog lovers – and raise money for a key local charity.

The News has learned that the hard-working volunteers with Friends of Cumbernauld Community Park are poised to stage a Bark in The Park event on Sunday, September 11.

And the event is scheduled to feature a special sponsored dog walk in aid of Strathcarron Hospice.

Organisers have managed to get sponsorship from Trophy Pet Foods - and are now putting together a programme which will see representatives of dog charities appearing with their four legged friends. Free micro-chipping for dogs will also be available courtesy of North Lanarkshire Council.

Entry is by donation and the walk itself will get underway from 11am at the rear of St Andrews’s and Cumbernauld Primary School where car parking is available. More information on this event will appear in an upcoming edition of the News.
