Cumbernauld woman killed in A9 crash

A Cumbernauld woman was confirmed to have died in a road accident in the Scottish Highlands.

At approximately 10.45am on Wednesday, March 30, emergency services were alerted to a serious road traffic accident on the A9 near Dalwhinnie.

The collision involved a black Mazda 6 and a grey Vauxhall Astra.

The sole occupant of the Mazda died at the scene. Her identity was later revealed as Amanda Harold from Cumbernauld, who was 44 years old.

A man and a woman and two young children in the Astra sustained cuts and bruises.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an investigation at the scene of the crash.
