The event kicked off on Saturday afternoon with a traditional parade from William Patrick Library to Woodhead Park.

Fun was the only thing on the agenda when the festivities got underway with a variety of stalls and fair rides keeping families amused.

The crowds were also entertained by a variety of acts including Rosebank Dance School, whose dancers put on an outstanding performance.

Terrier racing also proved to be popular with several of the dogs chasing after ‘Cyril the squirrel’ (pictured).

Gala Queen Rachel McMillan carried out her ‘royal duties’ on the day with attendants Morag McKay, Kayleigh McGill, Alan Moffat and James Scott.
