Hide AdJimmy worked in the pits, and in the building trade, and at one time was a chimney sweep. Mina had gone to work for the local doctors after leaving school, but gave that up to look after her parents and then to raise her own children, sons William and Samuel and daughter Annette.
The couple now have three grandchildren, Sharon, Derrick and Claire, and great-grandchildren Jade and Alisha.
Although living quietly now, both were keen bowlers, and Mina was a great worker for the pensioners, and for the Darby and Joan Club, as well as a member of the rural.
She was also known as a lovely singer, and was frequently called on to sing at social functions.
