Disruption on the Squinty Bridge

COMMUTERS are being warned to face delays when using the Clyde Arc to cross to and from the north of the city.

The bridge, commonly called the Squinty Bridge, is undergoing roadworks which are expected to last for more than two months.

The work is being carried out on the two bus lanes, forcing buses to use the lanes meant for normal traffic.

Part of the new Fastlink scheme, when completed it will see a run of dedicated bus routes traveling from the city centre to the Southern General Hospital.

Funded by the Scottish government, the £40 million route is backed by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport and Glasgow city council and work on the Squinty part of the route is expected to continue until Friday, March 14.
