Dogs missing from Duntreath Castle may have been spotted at Rouken Glen

Dogs thought to have been stolen from an aristocratic family may have been spotted in Rouken Glen Park.

According to The Extra’s sister paper, the Bearsden and Milngavie Herald, the twin sister cocker spaniels went missing on August 12 from the garden of the home of Dru Edmonstone, son of Sir Archibald and Lady Julie Edmonstone.

The owners of historic Duntreath Castle, in Blanefield, have offered a £1,000 reward for information on Gwen and Kate.

Now, Dru has extended his search south to East Renfrewshire, following reported sightings last Wednesday of dogs matching the same description tied up together at Rouken Glen Park.

The desperate pet owner has also been informed of an attempt to steal another dog from an older East Ren resident in the same park, on August 24.

Now leafleting the southside in the hope of finding his lost dogs, Dru told The Extra: “I’ll be out looking for them every day if I have to. They are like our children and we miss them terribly.”

Police have been informed, and the owner has requested CCTV footage from East Renfrewshire Council.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we were made aware of two cocker spaniels reported missing in Blanefield on Wednesday, August 12.

“We have engaged further with the owner, who now believes the animals have been stolen and we are continuing with our inquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dru on 07718660730.
